Midterm EOC: This has my interest

This article fascinated me because Robert Trachtenber has been in the photography industry taking photos of celebrities for magazines like GQ, entertainment weekly, and many more. He always seems to know exactly how and where to get the perfect shot. Robert has an amazing work ethic. He once stopped a vacation part way through to shoot the cover of GQ magazine. He has also directed several documentaries including one on late film director George Cukor. Robert seems to perfectly balance all these professions and somehow still finds time for himself. The article includes quotes from many of his current and former colleagues.

I really liked this article because they interviewed several successful portrait photographers that all properly and sophisticatedly answered every question asked. As someone who is strongly considering pursuing a career in portrait photography, I absolutely love the advice they gave not only for other photographers just starting out, but other fellow experienced photographers. They went over things such as the difference between commercial, and consumer portraits, and what skills you need to master to even have a shot at making it in the photography industry. They also went over the best marketing strategy for a freelance photographer.

This was my favorite article out of the 3 I have selected. This article shows how companies and ad agencies work with photographers to find new ways to reach different demographics. One of these examples shows how Cadillac sent a skating photographer on a yearlong road trip all over the United States. The article also goes over how important social media is to these companies, and how great images are attracting attention to their business. It also tells how photographers get sponsored by companies and get sent on different assignments for them
